Roger,

If you were a child living in an area where there was a significant chance that you or any number of people that you know and are concerned about could have their lives ended by an earthquake,

And,

For one reason of another your parents and family could not move to an inland location or some country were there were no earthquakes,

Then,

What would you want?

1. Would you want adults and scientists around the world to pretend that earthquakes don't exist so that you could be totally happy until that unfortunate day arrived when one occurred in your area?

Or,

2. Would you want them to discuss the subject matter at least partially out in the open and try to get something done so that their lives would not be at such great risk?

The earthquakes are going to occur regardless of what people say here. Why not do something to try to get people out of their way?
