Five predicted earthquakes – March 14, 2011

The following EarthWaves posts were advisories or warning that appear to have been for significant earthquakes. And there is one that my forecasting method pointed to quite well. But I did not post a warning for it.

This was posted here a few days before the recent 9 magnitude Japan earthquake.

This was posted shortly before three 7.5 magnitude earthquakes occurred in the Philippines.

This was posted about a month before that really powerful earthquake in Chile. There can often be delays of multiples of 7 days between the time when these signals are detected and when the earthquake occurs.

This was posted the day before the extremely destructive Haiti earthquake.

One of the most accurate that my forecasting method identified but that I did not have time to discuss was the January 18, 2011 earthquake in Pakistan.

These EM Signals are being detected throughout the year. And in the past I might post an advisory or warning when any especially powerful signals were detected. However, what my data analyses are indicating is that the most reliable of the signals are the ones that occur within just a few hours of one another. And I am presently largely circulating warnings and advisories only when multiple signals are detected like that. Usually, that happens just a few times a year.

The latest two were probably linked in part with that 9 magnitude Japan earthquake that occurred a day earlier. The explanation for why that happens is complicated. And I don’t yet fully understand what is taking place. Energy associated with the recent earthquake appears to be involved. But in spite of that I have still decided to post warnings etc. whenever two signals are detected like that within a few hours of one another. It is too risky to take a chance and wait to see what happens.

The point of this is the following:

The statement that “Earthquakes can’t be predicted” is in my opinion just a convenient myth that scientists and government officials around the globe are propagating to cover the fact that they are simply too lazy and not bright enough to learn how to discuss the subject of earthquake forecasting with the general public without creating a panic. So, they take the easy way out.
