Highly Irresponsible comments by Dr. Michio Kaku

Dr. Michio Kaku once again made irresponsible comments on ABC's Good morning America. He is a Physicist, and seems not to know much about geophysics or geology. He talked about the tsunami going a mile inland but it was worded ambiguously, so it could be applied to California.

He also suggested that there could be another big quake in Japan, and the wording implied "soon" to me. At a workshop held on 1/2 year anniversary of Haiti quake Eric Calais suggested that talking about large triggered quakes is not helpful at this sort of time. Rumors like this caused a panic in Haiti and professional earth scientists were partly to blame.

Yes, we have freedom of the press but news channels need to have access to seismologists. I work with one who is commonly interviewed because he works near New York City, but he is in the field in Bangladesh (Leonardo Seeber).
