This post is a little similar to requests by EQF to not post on top of certain of his threads, a request that we do not observe. I'm not going to request that Amit or EQF not post on science threads, and my own initial post included a story intended for some humor, which as it turns out, may not have been appropriate.

But, for people who might rarely read this page but are looking at it because of the earthquake: Amit's predictions are that earthquakes of a certain magnitude will occur somewhere in the world; not site specific predictions. Part of the "data" that go into these predictions is retrograde motion of planets. Retired USGS seismologist Roger Hunter has evaluated these predictions and found them no better than chance.

The opinion of some of us who post on this page is that the EQF charts of global activity by longitude also are unlikely to be better than chance, although these are very much harder to evaluate. From what we know of what goes into these charts, the physics seems unlikely.
