Amit, you have a point. But, you have given me no reason to believe we know which 30 days to be alert. But, I'll turn this around on you: what good would it be to be alert for 30 days? It is actually useful to know which faults and capable of the largest earthquakes and which are most overdue. It bears on which buildings and bridges should be retrofitted, and what the building codes should be. That is what saves lives, and it saves lives now.
