Yeah Roger - I understand the post-diction. But I have seen his warnings go out and then a damaging quake within a day or 2 - or on/near the date he says.

I don't think damaging/loss of life quakes happen as often as the 5's, 6's and 7+'s - I guess its hard to track based on that with a database since the catalogs don't have damages associated with them.

But like anything - we see something - note that something/symptom - watch and wait to see what happens - come up with a hypothesis - test the hypothesis, etc.... The most difficult thing to deal with here is that we need to rely on the Earth and its time scale as our test lab. Hard to do any testing at all when you have to wait and wait and wait to learn if anything works.
