This happens constantly.

I read the Internet earthquake reports just about every day. And perhaps once a month one will suddenly appear about an earthquake that occurred as much as several years ago. Most of these late reports are probably associated with highly destructive earthquakes where there were large numbers of reports generated. And somehow, one of them will surface again. It could be that the storage number for that earlier report somehow accidentally gets into the active news stream.

This is pretty upsetting as it makes it look like there was another catastrophic earthquake where the earlier one occurred. And when I see a report like that I have to remember to look through it for a date that will show that it was from the earlier earthquake. Still, it is confusing and rather unsettling for a time.
