I do think there is a complete disregard of common sense or the concept of 'occams's razor' when it comes to some of the fringe elements..

Why people choose to believe in missiles off the coast of LA or submarines underneath LA or any other such things is really beyond me.. I know some of it is pure ignorance due to lack of education in such matters (there's no ocean under our la basin area for a submarine to venture) - but it doesn't work when you try to educate them either. They stick to their beliefs - Maybe they just need to have sensationalism in their lives?

I have not read Sue's book yet - maybe I should put it on a shopping list for Christmas..

I did read something I thought was interesting in the last couple of weeks - I don't remember if I posted it here or not - but a story about more detailed modeling of earth's crustal plates and movements - done in great detail - Now.. this is the beginnings of something that could be used for possible predictions in the future - or forecasts..

I think we'll get there some day - given enough data in one place.. with the ability to watch stresses build and gps data, etc..
