Several comments, 1. As I have pointed out in the past, this bulletin board probably exists because another earthquake researcher and I wanted to have a resource like this developed so that people who wish to discuss earthquake forecasting and earthquake research in general would have an informal, pleasant, and somewhat protected medium for doing that. And I believe that the original QuakeNet resource eventually evolved into this bulletin board and the Yahoo EarthWaves board. I am not the moderator. But considering that this board probably exists because of some of my past efforts you can hardly be surprised when I complain to the moderator that someone is in my opinion making inappropriate use of the board. 2. Also as I have said, some of my posts like that earlier one are being used as a reference for serious researchers around the world to consider. Anyone visiting the board can easily determine that Canie is the moderator. And you can hardly be surprised when she exercises her rightful censorship powers to make certain that something in a posted note such as inappropriate language is not going to make her look bad before the entire scientific world or whatever part of that world visits this bulletin board. 3. You and Roger could have both posted notes to new threads with your comments instead of posting responses to mine where they could automatically be read by people around the world who were reading my post. And I probably would not have said anything if they did not get too far out of line. So, why didn’t you do that instead of posting your note in my thread and forcing the board moderator to make a decision on whether or not she needed to use her censorship powers? In my opinion, that type of consideration is just a simple courtesy that serious researchers would normally extend to other researchers.
