Yes...calling an ambulance would have summoned fire trucks, police, etc. with flashing red lights and probably attracted a crowd of the curious. Alas...what difficult choices we make sometimes. Alcohol is often involved in any sort of incident. I've been on some field trips where we were lucky that something awful DIDN'T happen! Do remember idiots getting left behind in bathrooms...one person who snored so loudly that their sleeping bag (with them in it) was carried a quarter of a mile away...bad sunburns and insect bites...Ah well. The good old days.
