The main problem that I have seen to date with Perl is the fact that, in my opinion, you have to have a pretty thick hide if you want to ask a question in the Perl Internet Newsgroup and you are not already a Perl expert. There are some very friendly and helpful Newsgroups out there. The one devoted to the Perl language is not one of them, in my opinion.
