It must be the way he wrote it. I went back and I still read it as the coin physically flipping 100 times on each throw. English is not an easy language, and even though I am a native, I take great pains to make sure that what I write is unambiguous. Most people write just sloppy enough that it can be interpreted multiple ways.

No, I'm not being a grammar-nazi, but in many of the debates I've gotten in over the years, effective communication has been difficult due to the way concepts are expressed in words.
