I can confirm that EDG did indeed post in SGE as he says.

However, just to throw out a data point, usenet is not a reliable way of archiving as the headers can be very easily spoofed. It is possible to post after the quake with a date stamp from before the event, thus making it look like a good prediction, and that the message somehow just got delayed in posting.

And I'm going to take a moment *yet again* to mention that I believe I have a foolproof method of archiving quake predictions that cannot be spoofed or rigged. Further, it uses existing resources currently available on the internet. I just wonder if, *yet again*, no one will be interested in my idea.
