Peru and Costa Rica earthquakes May 20, 2010

It is getting easier and easier to generate these earthquake and EM Signal data. And in my opinion they are amazing. It is unfortunate that forecasting efforts are not yet sufficiently advanced to display all of the data here or at my Web sites.

The Chart A data at my Web site and some EM Signals data not shown at my Web sites indicate to me that the Etdprog.exe computer program probably did an excellent job of spotting the approach of the Costa Rica earthquake. I have not had time to check to see how well it did with the Peru earthquake.

And, those two earthquakes might have been both geophysically and electromagnetically linked. For example, the Costa Rica earthquake occurred at 84 W. And the sublunar point when the Peru earthquake occurred was either 84 W or 90 or 180 degrees to the east or west of that longitude. My computer program is not presently set to display the true longitude, only that 84 W number. That suggests a geophysical connection between the two earthquakes.

Perhaps a half dozen EM Signals detected between the times of the two earthquakes appear to also have been linked with both earthquakes. And that means that there might have been an electromagnetic connection between the two earthquakes.

These are some of the best data I have been able to collect to date on these types of geophysically and electromagnetically linked earthquakes even though they are encountered fairly often. And it is going to take a while and some thought to generate theories for what might be taking place with them.

E-mail discussions were held early on May 20, 2010 with people at different locations to see if an earthquake advisory or warning should be circulated after two strong EM Signals were detected earlier in the day. Preliminary data analyses indicated that the EM Signals were probably linked with the Peru earthquake in that previously described relationship. And the decision was made not to circulate a formal advisory or warning.
