I agree with Roger's response except it may be even worse for your hypothesis than he said: he said it isn't sudden and it isn't large enough. This would be true. But, does a change in force even exist? If it is an apparent motion as viewed from earth, perhaps the miniscule gravitational force pulls from the same direction a bit longer than would be the case if Jupiter was moving across the sky (or was it Saturn, which is even farther away). While I could ask for an explanation, me reading a response on this subject is a waste of time.

I used to understand apparent motions better when I took astronomy, or maybe it was some TV program...but it was long ago.
