Besides the promiscuous women, moving people out of Tehran is at least thought-provoking. It is similar to international people suggesting that people move out of Port-au-Prince Haiti. I heard a talk (By Dan(?) Stockli of U. Kansas(?) that included Tehran, and I think the North Tehran fault, which seems similar to the situation for northern and eastern parts of Los Angeles. If I recall correctly, thrust faults and mountains to the north, and a deep sedimentary basin to the south.

Of course, we would not consider moving half the people out of Los Angeles. The correct response for Tehran would be to look at construction. I suppose it could be reasonable to look into establishing the core of a city in some safer place in Iran, and see if people move there eventually. There may be other reasons to do this (think Brasilia).
