You are right, in my very-not-an-expert opinion. However, I am echoing your question for the real experts. My daughter and I were just talking about our Summer Seimo/Geo/Volc Tour (we should have t-shirts made) and discussing heading first to see the area that Chris visited recently on his field trip, plus the whole New Madrid area and - of course - Acres of Diamonds S.P. in Arkansas. The weird Oklahoma quakes came up and we decided that it might be worth checking out on our way, especially since they are fairly narrowly located. If nothing else, we'll probably see a tornado to chase. Getting back to your observation, again, I am no expert, but I have a gut feeling that something is up mid-continent. If you give any credence to Mogi Donut theory, you look (technically in the middle as in a donut hole)where the quakes aren't happening and that's a big area. However, it seems that with more and more quakes, the "donut hole" appears to be shrinking. Again, just my gut feeling. Not that I want to be in Oklahoma when the "big one" hits... because if that happens this summer it will probably be instantly followed by a tornado! So, what's up? Anybody? Beth
