Something that I keep stating to other earthquake forecasters and researchers is that if you wish to let people know that you think that an earthquake could be approaching, you probably need to have a Web site where your forecast information can be easily accessed. And, your data have to be presented in a manner where they cqan be easily and rapidly understood by site visitors. You should also have some type of Archive file at the site that shows in an easily understood manner how accurate your past forecasts were.

I looked at Dave’s site and did not see that type of information displayed there. Perhaps it is. But if it requires that people do a lot of searching then they will likely soon abandon the effort and look elsewhere.

With my own forecasting efforts a considerable amount of time has been spent over the years just trying to develop an effective Web page format for displaying the data. For the past few weeks I have been working on yet another major update for my own Archives Web page. It will hopefully be done some time today. My actual Data.html forecast Web page will also probably eventually get a significant update.

Any theories for earthquake forecasting and triggering processes that do not have tectonic plate movement at their core are likely to be quickly ignored by probably the majority of scientists around the world. And it appears to me that Dave’s theories and those of another researcher who used to post here, regard tectonic plate movement as not being especially important. So, I doubt that too many people will take very much interest in those theories. However, it is also important to add that even though some theory might appear to be inconsistent with current scientific thinking, there are times when the methodology is still actually able to generate useful data by some fortuitous accident.

ICELAND VOLCANO

Internet news reports appear to be reporting that the volcano in Iceland that is presently sending so much debris into the atmosphere is causing major problems for countries in Europe. They are having to shut their airports for fear that the dust will damage aircraft and create unsafe flying conditions.
