I think its fairly normal. My guess is in another 2 weeks it will dramatically fall off and by fall be back to what it was before the quake. Yes I agree with you, it makes a wonderful dilineation of the fault. I think those of us who follow that map day in and day out can appreciate that seeing that you can't get feel for other faults based on the normal background seismicity. I keep having morbid thoughts though about the Hayward Fault and how someday we will observe that defined dilineation on a map in the bay area...how surreal, interesting, and scary that will be. Also it should be noted we only see this definition with strike slips. If this had been thrust event the aftershocks would look like a blob of zits on a teenagers face, all over and no ryhme or reason.
