These are all wonderful ideas! I've been to Kellogg/Coeur d'Alene a zillion times in my life but have never been to the mining district. The running diary is something that we cannot be reminded of doing enough times, so thanks for that. Samples and markable zip locs are something to remember, too. We used to live in CA so we've been to La Brea, but I'd forgotten all about it and my daughter, Emily, probably doesn't remember much about them so that's a wonderful reminder.
