I was just going to post those same thoughts since I saw the MT was reviewed. This is not on the Elsinore. This is much deeper. Perhaps a blind thrust that intersects at depth.

The LA Basin is riddled with deep blind thrusts. I seem to recall a seismic line survey showing this, perhaps across the faults that caused Northridge.
