1. yes, research geologist at UCSB. There were some years with almost no funding where it was not all that professional, but better now.
2. I work with faults and folds among other things. It used to be of older, inactive faults, but now is active faults and folds. But, I have an amateur/hobby interest in earthquakes and climate and meteorology also. 3. If you care to share, what do you do professionally?

4: Northridge, from UCSB west of Santa Barbara. It woke up HW who woke me up and i felt the tail end and some aftershocks. Also hike up Stromboli, Etna, walked out to the active lava flows in Hawaii, and hitch-hike and too train to
5: Claims to fame: no high school diploma (I snuck into college after a few years), high school principle sentenced to death for mass murder (Upper Merion High school, Pennsylvania), and skated 200 km in one day on canals in Friesland province in the Netherlands in 1986.
