headed to Haiti

I may be headed to Miami in about 11 days to catch a research ship to Haiti, to survey the offshore part of rupture (if it reached sea floor), as well as the offshore structure towards Port au Prince. I'm not one of the lead people, but contributed. A few problems:
The Federal government is closed for snow and there has not been final approval of the rapid response proposal.

The ship has to wait out the winter storm of tomorrow before heading from Rhode Island to Miami. It has to have NSF final approval to go.

We need clearance from Haiti. With the US government closed for snow it's not coming.

I just asked for a second extension for the Final technical report now due Feb 28; otherwise I'll have to write up what we have now; this is for Newport Beach to San Diego, the near offshore to about 30 km offshore; faults like the Newport-Inglewood, San Mateo-Carlsbad, and faults in between that were maybe not well known, or known at all before.
