The link is to a site in Dutch on the 200 km tour and race skating on canals. It occurs more often with inactive sun according to the link. You can use "Translate" in Google and this does a pretty good job. I completed this 200 km skate the day before the 1986 Elfstedentocht; besides HW and HD, of course, this is the accomplishemnt I am most proud of. But, no pin for finishing because I was not official doing it the day before.

The forecast for Freisland (north Netherlands) is cold enough to maintain ice but it will get thicker only very slowly.

I'll be skating on thin ice on shallow part of vernal lake today. Skated on this lake and other ones 11 days out of 13 ending 2 weeks ago.
