That does sound interesting, and I would enjoy it, but it seems a little unlikely that I would make it there because I am working with 2 students and 2 profs at Long Beach and should also make an appearance where I work (Santa Barbara) and might want to stop in Santa Cruz on way home to see HD, at which time I will have been gone a long time. I used to do day hikes with Dibblee maps in the Santa Barbara backcountry, and also head out to the islands, mainly Santa Cruz, to mostly measure striations on faults but also look at all the landslides and uplifted marine terraces etc. Now I do almost no field work at all unless you count a couple of research cruises.

Maybe when I am in Palm Springs in mid September I should stay longer, but I guess it is usually too hot (not so bad this past year).
