ATTN: Earthquake Researchers January 27, 2010 |
ATTENTION EARTHQUAKE RESEARCHERS January 27, 2010 Please ignore the other responses to my original Earthquake Warning. I specifically requested that people posting to this bulletin board not post any responses to these formal Earthquake Warnings etc. unless they wish to add some type of technical information. The warnings are intended to provide government officials, disaster mitigation personnel, and other researchers with important earthquake related data. Unfortunately, Internet courtesy appears to be in short supply these days. And my request is being ignored. This is somewhat irritating because a number of years ago I worked with another researcher to get the earlier version of this present bulletin board created for the express purpose of having a somewhat protected Internet resource where earthquake warning information etc. could be stored for public view. Unfortunately, I am not involved with running this present board and cannot control who posts here or what they say. The effort to post these types of technical notes on this board is obviously not working. So I am planning to start looking around for another bulletin board where the posting rules are more restrictive. Efforts are also underway to create a highly sophisticated bulletin board for use by serious researchers around the world. It would have multiple posting options. For example, the person posting a note could state that any responses would automatically be sent to him or her for posting approval. I am not aware of any existing bulletin boards that allow for options like that. If anyone knows about one I would be interested in hearing about that. In the mean time, just ignore those other response posts. Best Regards. Follow Ups: ● to whom are you speaking? - John Vidale 16:19:22 - 1/27/2010 (76543) (0) |
