Re: Old Fashioned EQ Advisory/NW

That would be great. I think we should start thinking about something similar
to the EPR that Michael and Roger are just about ready with. But instead of
related to earthquake predictions, this would be a registry of possible earthquake
precursors including things like ear tones, earthquake lights, strange behavior
of household pets, etc.
The Chinese did this some years ago, but that database is highly restricted
and can only be used for research purposes within China, as far as I am aware.
This data base would be available instantly to anyone and data could be
placed by anyone. I'm not sure of registry, I suppose data providers should
give their e-mail address to avoid hackers getting in and screwing up the system,
but we need to have privacy an issue here.
I think data pages could be accessed through another green box at the top
of the page taking them to the appropriate page to enter their signal, perhaps
through a pull down menu.
For ear tones, the more the better and from as many quarters as possible.
Some can be eliminated later through analysis - meteorites make high pitched
noises as do solar storms and aurorae, some of these could be marked as
associated with ....
Anyway, with summer rapidly approaching, and school duties somewhat
less, some may have time to work on this.
It's an addition to the this board that would really be worthwhile, and one that
government agencies have steadfastly refused to do (mostly because they would
have to fund it).
This would give the board a legitimate face, beyond what many feel is just
talk - a hard data port for both precursory phenomena and earthquake predictions.
It would be great.
