Thanks Beth. Was not my post with link to the paper. I'll start posting geology later. It's largely my own problem that I'm having trouble getting published (although I have a certain number of first author papers). Besides writing issues, my work is not especially quantitative in the way that is easier to publish. I had and still have too many projects (about 6) and have had trouble focusing.

Your post makes me wonder if indeed I should put some figures up and link them from here. I'd have to be careful because I would not be able to publish figures available on the internet in the better journals. It is probably only peer-reviewed publications that are taken seriously (although a lot are deeply flawed or ignored or whatever).
