Dennis, A question is whether the 8-10 deg change is entirely because of the fresh water release, or did the fresh water release merely get things started and there was a bunch of feedback. For example, I don't think the ice sheets from the last glacial maximum were entirely gone on N America and Europe (I could be wrong). With higher CO2 (and methane perhaps) it might never be able to get started. Also, there may be an increase in fresh water and decrease in density of the surface water due to gradual melting of Greenland, but there will not be a sudden massive flood.

On the other hand, with the warming the water may not get dense enough to sink (not sure what that part of NE Atlantic is called)
