Penny, Garlock EQ is now 4.6, and the focal mechanism is consistent with left-lateral on the Garlock.

The day before there was a M4.4 in the Outer Borderland, just east of San Nicolas Island. I am leaving in a couple of hours to go to Bakersfield for the Masters thesis defense of a student who worked just north. I am working with a student at Long Beach whose mapping is limited on the north by the fault-fold structure likely related to this quake. The focal mechanism is consistent with an E-W reverse fault, although C.N. cautioned that there is likely a fair amount of slop in this solution.

I have to map the fault-fold structure when I get a chance.
