Thank you for your response, Mike.

I do not mean to belittle the consequences to humanity today due to global warming. I merely wanted to point out that "all the hubbub" is ONLY due to us humans being here. If it did not affect humanity, no one would care - or very few. This is what I meant by the arguments being anthropocentric.

I'm not refuting global warming, nor that man is influencing it, although I do not think we are the sum total cause. This mainly due that the Earth is known to go through these cycles naturally, and sometimes an order of magnitude more extreme. Further, there is some evidence that the Sun has a large influence on minor variations - for example currently we appear to be headed into another Maunder Minimum type cycle in sunspot activity.
