It would be interesting to know where the tide gauge is in relation to the shore for the Pago Pago reading of 5.1 feet. One local radio station www.knx1070.com has been and is still reporting "waves described as being 30 to 40 feet high." I highly suspect this is erroneous, at best maybe a run up height.
