Yep, Roger - the age of the robber barons. The irony is that even intelligent and industrious people like Barbara and Brian would have been chewed up and spit out, their education and labor nothing more than a cheap commodity, to enrich a vanishingly small population of predatory oligarchs, if their dreams of unfettered capitalism had not been restrained by progressives. And even by the occasional conservative back in the day when they had a sense of common decency and shared citizenship.
