Don, You might want to check out the PNSN catalog at: http://www.geophys.washington.edu/SEIS/PNSN/CATALOG_SEARCH/cat.search.html Remember to cut the lower magnitude limit to -1 and expand the lat/lon range to include your area (to 135W) and to search from 5-1-01 through today. They are recording an event near your predicted epicenter for today with Ml 1.7. However, recall from prior postings that magnitudes for events out at sea from PNSN are about 1.2 units too low in this catalog and the network pulls the epicenters between 30-50 km towards shore from true epicenters. The epicenter given there is: May 17 2001 09:01:06 44.3N 127.2W Ml 1.7 However given the problems with this network, the actual parameters are more like: May 17 2001 09:01:06 44.4N 127.8W Ml 2.9 +/- 0.5 Your prediction was: Magnitude: 2.5 to 3.5 From: 05/15/2001 PST - To: 05/19/2001 PST Location: Off Coast of Oregon Lat: 44.6N - Long: 128.0W - Range: 16Km Comparing, I think congratulations are in order - quality on this is "A" Sorry Petra, looks like you'll just have to get a bigger doorway.
