O/T, reply to Cathryn

Cathryn, our house is always safe from flood because it is up on a ridge above small creek. Everyone is good except HW and I are working too hard and HD is stressing over exams. Did you break your back? Last weekend my chronic back problems acted up and I could barely walk or stand. Much better now, and if I take it easy I have no problems, but it takes a couple of weeks to recover.
I enjoyed novel #1, which I read about a year ago. Are you close to finishing #2?

As I mention above, I'm having a rough time with major revisions requested by a journal for a manuscript on Palos Verdes area. I spent 2 months full time equivalent on the revisions already because I did a lot of additional interpretation and am happy with that now. But my writing style is too detailed and descriptive=problems with boring/global interest.

I was going to drive a few students to a source of beer on the flooding Missouri River yesterday but it was chilly, raining, and the place (Cooper's Landing) may have been closed: the water would have been about 2 vertical feet or a little less from entering the store.

Chris
