I don't know if it is the same thing, but I was at the SCEC meeting or workshop or whatever for the 150th anniversary of 1857 quake and they had some mobil EQ simulator. Ventura is pretty exposed. The Oak Ridge fault come through there and it is active at a relatively high rate: maybe 5 mm/yr farther northeast at Fillmore, maybe a little less at Ventura. There is an exceptionally deep sedimentary basin at Fillmore but it is still deep at Ventura. So, the same ground motion simulations that show LA to be in trouble also show waves amplified/reflected for a long time in Ventura basin. Oak Ridge fault is generally a reverse fault but it has large bends so the part near Ventura, which is NE-SW rather than WNW-ESE, is mostly strike-slip.
