Regarding conversion of magnitudes, I'm not sure it can be done as they each measure differently. And since no two quakes are the same mechanically, even if they are somehow of equal 'intensity', I don't think they would read the same way.

Besides, I'm not sure the predictor needs to input a magnitude. Typically they are within a point or two of each other anyway. I see this as more of an analysis issue than a prediction archive issue.
