John and all, it also says you can get repeated earthquakes on a fault even without loading. That would tend to support the high hazard for New Madrid. I still have my doubts: how accurate are models like this?. Co-author Mian Liu is here at Mizzou, but professors almost never give talks in the department, so I don't know what people are doing sometimes.
