Thanks for the post and link, Jane and Canie. I just had time for a quick scan of the article, but I was rather surprised that it stated that a fault large enough to be capable of a M7 was "likely created in the last 5000 years". That seems doubtful to me. Also, the lead researcher's comments seemed rather alarmist and irresponsible. Maybe he's not used to speaking to the media.
