Penny, I have not seen this book. But, I suspect it was not as scientically rigorous (is that a word?) as the new publication and the open access publication that Dennis linked to. These articles had to make it through review by experts in the field so have more credibility. I suppose you know this already. I had encountered some early stuff by Firestone and/or West that was fairly implausible. Kennett and Kennett joining that team gave it a lot of credibility...father Kennett (J.P.) is in the National Academy or something like that.
On the other hand, getting an article through review is no guarantee that it is correct.
