Hello Pavel, The largest mining operations here (in the 1880's) were tunneled perpendicular to the striatified schist formations. Load bearing viens were in alignment with the northwest reference strike of the Elasinore fault. This perpendicular mining gave the miners a greater chance of hitting more ore bearing veins. I would say the mine in question is highly active----aseimically. Also there is no known record of the last rupture of the Elsinore fault--late Holocene. But it is creeping. This is what I have called the "Elsinore enigma". It's either very stressed, or little stress at all on it. Just don't know. Thanks for the response. Feel free to ask more.
