Not sure how they will be able to discriminate the effect of solar activity from the man-induced changes, but I suppose if (big if) the changes are large, they should be able to tell. I'm still not taking it as a given that, just because the sun is quiet now, it will be unusually quiet over the more active part of the solar cycle...much less for decades. That was not the point of this article, but was at least implied by links from your earlier posts.
