actually, there is a lot of discussion of whether it is warming...maybe not here, although there were posts that it has cooled in last few years here (don't know if that is correct or not). I had dinner 2 years ago with petroleum geologists who don't think it is warming. I talked to a Ph.D geologist colleage who did not know that CO2 leads to warming. The ExxonMobil-sponsored front groups are really extreme in their viewpoints. So, I could ignore it, but see it as a problem. My exploration into Dennis' post lead me to comments that the Americal Physical Society is backing off from their position that anthropogenic (sp?) warming is real...because some of their members don't believe it. But, the link is to the actual statement from APS.
