Luke, if the source of your thermal anomalies are heat flow or something coming out of the earth, that might be interesting to an earth scientist. If it is just weather as suggested by your links, then less so, as it would be difficult to see how surface temperatures can affect depths of 10 or 15 km where large California earthquakes nucleate.
