Good time to look for precursors--So Cal |
Howdy, My opinion is if somebody wants to find any precursory evidence for the next large quake in So Cal, NOW is the time to do it. We only get these chances rarely. Again, given the historic evidence of earthquakes here in the southland, it is my guess we are very close to the next strong quake. Seems like Landers and Hector threw the whole regime out of kilter. I think the tectonic stress regime continues, and it would be great to know which section fails next. But I don't. My best guess, and it is a guess, is that the northern San Jacinto near Riverside will be next. The southern Mexicali quakes are mundane and boring. A prediction? Yep. A good knee knocker soon enough.
