I was watching Mythbusters last night (or hubby was in bed - I was trying to read) and they had a segment on Global warming and gases - to see if a carbon dioxide atmosphere, methane or 'normal' got any hotter -

So, they set up 3 identical boxes, or hothouses, one was control - one filled with methane and one filled with CO2 - an identical ice sculpture was put in each - then a high intensity lamp was put on each one - the interior temperatures rose at an equal rate -

In the end - the Methane and the CO2 atmosphere were 1 degree warmer than the control atmosphere - so yes, more CO2 or Methane cause a 1 degree rise in temperature in the boxes (but no more than that after hours)..

What's the conclusion? the co2 or methane atmosphere did get 1 degree hotter than a standard atmosphere..

What does it mean? I don't know...
