I watched a little of good morning America this morning...or maybe I saw it somewhere else...but they showed video of masses of toads in China, presumably in the earthquake zone. They made some noise about whether this was a precursor. Otherwise, there was no where near enough information to know whether this was junk reporting or interesting. The BSSA (Bulletin Seismological Society of America) published a paper showing pictures of rats etc that talked about snakes leaving their holes and half freezing solid before the 1975 China earthquake...the one that was predicted. I've heard that (US?) seismologists think that prediction was over-rated.
