I'm at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia university this week. One of the people I'm working with was asked to be on ABC news tonight about the China quake but someone else was able to do it, and he did not particularly want to, so it will be someone else from Lamont. Sounds like the tip of a thrust system that could have some similarities to what one of the things we are working on this week: the thrust system beneath Los Angeles (existence and activity both controversial). I finally submitted our manuscript on this to the Journal of Geophysical Research about midnight 2 nights ago.
