Went to Landers with Ralph Archuleta and others 2 weeks after quake to poke around. In Landers, slip of 2 m went through a fence and then under the corner of a house. The Fence was offset, the house looked undamaged on the outside. It was 1 story, and I suspect the corner of the house slid on gravel/sand to stay with the rest of the house. Hector Mines derailed and AMTRAK train, but it does not take much to derail an Amtrak train in the west USA...a stiff breeze. I took Amtrak around the country when I quit Gulf Oil, and there was a derailed freight train on the side of the tracks...just left there..in Arizona or New Mexico. We were racing along at about 30 mph in those states.

Reminds me of my honeymoon...little airports in bahamas crashed drug planes left around ends of runways. Abandoned resorts and no one except us and 1 other couple at hours. I'm due to go to some tropical coast.
