Uh...I think that California has averaged a 6.0 range quake about every 4 years since we've recorded them (and that range is debatable, but still these are noticeable quakes!). The SF Chronicle this morning ran a nice long list of messed up earthquake predictions right next to this article. Bound to make people shrug and disregard concerns, as is, unfortunately, human nature anyway. We don't really know WHEN the next quake is coming, or where. We know that there will be quakes in California in the future, maybe today, and that's about it. Last night, Santa Barbara had a little shake for the first time in several years. Hmmmmm....who knows?
